Dr. Jamie D. Motley

About this speaker

Dr. Jamie D. Motley is the inaugural Anne Shen Chao ‘74 Director of the Office of Student Success at Wellesley College. In this role, she works with campus partners across the College to develop and enhance programs and services that support Wellesley’s first-generation, low-income student population. She has a wealth of experience in this area and has held leadership positions at multiple colleges and universities in Illinois, Georgia, Alabama, and Missouri.

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Motley holds a Master of Education Degree in Higher Education Administration and Ph.D. in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. In addition to her graduate degrees, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Western Illinois University.

Dr. Motley still celebrates, supports, and mentors many of her former students as they navigate their way through graduate school and professional careers.
